No Walls: No courage = No Victory

RE:  Richard  Armitage, British Actor @RCArmitage

Dear Richard,

It is of course your absolute right to choose what to write and what to delete on your timeline and I would always respect your choices and freedom of speech or lack of it, just as I hope others respect mine. I feel compelled however to express my deepest sadness to learn this morning that you have also deleted the very first tweet you sent to Mr Trump with the images of the Berlin wall and the #nowalls tag.

When I ponder on the Annals of History, I always end up with the same reflection: How many awful trends, atrocities and human suffering could have been avoided if only more people had been courageous enough to make their voices heard in the face of evil, greed and pride? I often imagine myself living in those episodes of history and try to honestly gage what I would have done in those situations; what I would do now, if a similar situation arose. This is a mental exercise I do often to pluck up the courage to speak up when I know it matters; when I know it counts. It is scary and it comes at a price, but I am not here to win a popularity contest. Life is too precious, too exquisite to simply settle for that. I guess, I do what I’d call a “John Proctor” drill. God knows this world is becoming an increasingly hostile place and the time may well come again for all of us to make such impossible choices.

I feel we are very much on the onset of such a situation, but as in previous chapters of history, for so many of us our attention is focused on all the wrong things, the trivial things, things of no real consequence to the wellness of humanity and this world in general. So many of us have become complacent and voyeurs in others’ lives whose reality is so much worse than our own and yet, we often dismiss it as not our problem. It is their life it affects after all, not ours.

The whole world is watching, because the whole world is looking for answers, the right answers. In a world where social media has such predominance and worldwide reception, it seems to me it is the optimum platform to make some waves which in turn create bigger waves that ultimately can pulverise some of these issues threatening the very delicate balance upon which our world stands today.

I was so elated when I saw you tweeted that hashtag to Mr Trump. It gave me hope that things can change; that there are those like yourself who act on their sense of responsibility to the wellness of those beyond ourselves, responsibility to stand up and be counted as another voice who is prepared to risk everything for a reality so much bigger than our own, and yet so intrinsic to our own. It blew me away to learn that someone of your popularity and following would have the courage and character to stand up to Mr Trump and speak up. After all, when I do so, I am not really risking all that much, or at least not yet, but for someone like you, there is much more at stake. The ripple that your wave will create is multiplied by the thousands, whilst mine may initially have some impact but soon dies away.

There are so many youngsters and adults even who wait by your side every single day, virtually anyway, to hear what you have to say or not say. So many completely at a loss as to what to make of what they see in the news and in their towns, on their doorstep. So many seeking direction from voices like yours, voices which belong to individuals that are already placed in a strategic spot to be able to change the course of events, to influence through their gifting, their work, their mere presence, the very fabric of history.

Perhaps I am mistaken and the ripples that your tweet to Mr Trump created are not as powerful as I believe them to have been, but I am certain that the effect of you taking that tweet down will be monumental. I fear that it will take the wind out of the sails of those who are inspired by and aspire to emulate the behaviour of the people they see as role models, exemplary, trust-worthy. Not to mention that Mr Trump’s following and anyone who is watching will regard it as a retreat. Another battle won. Let’s go on our merry way to win the whole war.

I do not sit here in judgement. How could I? I know nothing about your circumstances besides what we read in the media and what you put on twitter. You obviously have your reasons for your change of heart. I am no one to judge you one way or the other. As I said at the beginning, it is your absolute right to do as you will. I simply wanted to share my sadness this morning as one of the thousands of people who are inspired by your character, integrity and moral and social conscience, that you have retraced your steps on what I felt in my heart to be a gigantic leap of courage and extraordinary behaviour in this current climate of self-exultation, self-absorption and self-glorification, qualities which Mr Trump is the true champion of.

With my love always,

Mercedes Underwood

Which kingdom are Christians called to defend and contend for? So many Christians are still in the dark!

I wanted to post here an article written by Andrew Strom from

His article is entitled: “Do Christians love guns??” Normally, when someone brings up for discussion such a controversial topic as this one, all hell breaks loose, literally, and little if nothing is achieved through the debate.  However, I have found that through the comments left (over 300 hundred last time I looked) in response to this article, one can learn so much about the State of the Western Church, the deception deeply rooted still in the hearts of so many Western Christians and the complete and utter ignorance by many of God’s word and of Christ’s most essential teachings to his followers, despite the fact that they identify themselves as Christians.

The United States specially but so many other countries too are going through a very rough time at the moment and all signs indicate that things are only going to get worse.  It is so important to be rooted in God’s word at this time and to be so very clear as to what the word of God says in relation to the basic principles and assumptions made when discussing such thorny topics as this one.

Reading this article and all its comments has made me realise that even for those who in their mind are convinced of their solid faith and their knowledge of God’s word, there is still so much room for our pride to take over and to take pre-eminence in our souls over the spirit of Christ.  Christ’s bride is not ready for Him and it is certainly not spotless and without wrinkle or blemish. The city on a hill shines for its absence in the West and the lampstand has been removed from The Church in the West.

If you decide to read this, please do not get caught up in the actual frenzied debate about guns or no guns and all the different implications, but ask yourself, as a citizen of God’s kingdom and not of any specific earthly nation, what are the issues I need to be lifting up to God in prayer to prepare myself, my loved ones and others around me for what is to come?  What concerns should be taking up my time?  Indeed, should I be using this precious time in concern or trust the Lord with all my heart and soul and lean not on my own understanding? Am I spending enough time in His word so that when the time comes to personally face some of these issues, I have a profound and unequivocal understanding on what God commands me to do in such situations?

The need for ALL to prepare and to fill our lamps with oil at this time is grave, imperative and very, very pressing. We will all do well to take heed of the signs and the warnings and put aside our personal differences and focus on what it is that constitutes the bond between us Christians.

Here is Andrew’s article and the link to his site so that you can read all the comments.  It will take you a long time, but if like me you feel challenged in the Spirit and convicted in some areas where you feel you have let your guard down or are unsure as to what the word of God says in certain area, I urge you to plough and pray through the comments and seek God for the right answers.

I am writing this because I continue to believe that US Christians are being “driven” toward something very ugly. There is a lot of nasty rhetoric flying around that is the very opposite of Christ-like. Some in America are trying to get the Christians all riled up about not being allowed to own “assault rifles” and the like. But what is so “Christian” about owning guns anyway?

Personally, I neither love nor hate guns. I used to go hunting and I owned a .22 and a 6.5 Mauser (which kicked like a mule). But they are long gone. I also have US friends with Glocks and M-16s and things – fun to do some target shooting with – but I wouldn’t want to own one. Guns to me are neither to be loved nor hated. And certainly they are nothing to do with “Christian rights” or anything of the kind.

Which is why it alarms me to see high-profile believers seemingly making it a “Christian” issue that everyone should be allowed to own semi-automatic weapons. Reminds me of the facetious remark, “Who would Jesus kill?”

We have spoken before about the dangers of mixing Christianity with “nationalism” – of wrapping the Bible in the flag – and calling it ‘orthodox’ Christianity. This stuff is not just dangerous – it is deadly. There have been countless wars and countless millions killed down the centuries by this very thing. Mixing “patriotism” with Christianity and using that to motivate people – to get them riled up and mad enough to go “fight” somebody or riot in the streets, or whatever. Hitler used just this kind of patriotism to get himself elected. And I see this very same anger rising amongst some Christian conservatives in America. You are being “driven” toward something – and it is very ugly.

Every Christian should know that our home is in heaven – not in any particular “nation”. Our allegiance is towards GOD’S kingdom, not any kingdom on this earth. So let me very clearly spell it out-

-Saluting the flag is not a “Christian” activity. -Singing the national anthem REAL LOUD is not a Christian activity. -Being armed to the teeth is not a “Christian” activity. -War-mongering is not a “Christian” activity. -”Supporting the troops” is not a particularly ‘Christian’ activity. -Angrily fighting for your taxes is not a “Christian” activity. -Shouting and getting ‘nasty’ over Politics is not a Christian activity. -Constantly bad-mouthing the president is not a Christian activity – whether you agree with him or not.

-In fact a lot of this involves behavior that is totally “anti” Christian. -And despite being a great political document, the US Constitution is not a “Christian” document, and therefore fighting and screaming and name-calling over that document is not a “Christian” activity either. True Christians do not stand or fall by the US Constitution. They stand or fall by the actual word of God. And that is the only piece of writing that they should ever get so stirred up about.

Friends – we have a great mixing of Nationalism and Religion going on. And it is getting uglier and uglier.

Now, let me ask you some honest questions here. Have you been guilty of fighting or agitating over these things in the “flesh”? I say, “REPENT”. And are you guilty of slandering or bad-mouthing the president of your country in a way that is totally un-Christlike? Again I say, “REPENT!”  There is no excuse for a follower of Jesus behaving that way.

We are not supposed to be in a “war” over all this stuff. We are supposed to be focused on ETERNAL things – the only things worth fighting about. So let us forget these earthly “distractions” and concentrate on the things that really matter.

As I have said before, it is time to change the channel and turn OFF the voices of the “agitators” before they get you all riled up about the next ‘issue’. And it is time to go out and fight for the gospel and the souls of men – the things that can REALLY make a difference in the nation. Politics can never bring about the ‘heart’ change that is so desperately needed. Revival is what America truly needs! So let us fight for that – and leave the ungodly to fight for their “guns” and their “rights”. We are of a different kingdom. My friends, let us not forget it.

Blessings! – Andrew Strom ( )

Our Dear America – Where do you go from here? by Wolfgang and Mercy Simson

I don’t often do this, but the nature of the following article pushes me to publish it here today.  The comments left on the website which originally published it are even more enlightening than the article itself.

There are so many in North America today who are deeply grieved by the result of the Election.  Indeed, I have personally heard from some who are immersed in utter despair about it and see nothing but darkness ahead.

I would urge my friends Randi and Dave in particular to read this article and specially the comments left on that site. Here is a great comment from someone called Marty which struck a chord with me and the sentiment behind my recent posts:

That was truly a prophetic article, I have been saying much the same thing to everyone I know. Most of the ” intercessory” prayer about this election was from a “bless this country and deliver us from Obama” mentality when it should have been “Lord deliver this nation from sin and our warped priorities”. We must welcome Gods judgements as acts of divine love. We must also start seeking the mind of Christ on all issues, and not make false idols out of what we perceive as deliverance. There will be no deliverance until and unless we repent and seek hard after God. No good parent would ever let a child go through life the way we expect God to let the Church live in this country. Now will this nation and especially the Church accept this chastisement from God and really repent and seek Gods will and way?

OUR DEAR AMERICA – Where do you go From Here?

by Wolfgang and Mercy Simson.

Today, Obama has been re-elected; all the efforts of many Christian leaders, prayer movements, “prophets” and “concerned Americans”

who have lobbied, written appeals, articles, books, letters – some have even done films – to warn not to vote for him have come to nothing. Many of them have behaved as if the future of the Kingdom of God is at stake. Well, it is not.

Can we, as foreigners who dearly love you as a people, say a few words into this situation? Because it is evident to us that God has a clear plan with your nation. But many don t seem to see it, and therefore run the danger of fighting the wrong fight, wasting precious time and resources, and even endlessly call upon God to do what he just will not do.

The German weekly Der Spiegel, kind of a German Time Magazine, has a cover picture of Uncle Sam in bed, titled, The American

Patient: The decline of a Great Nation. We think this is a prophetic picture. As your friends, we know, acknowledge and admire that America has had a great past. But how will your future look like?

God chastises whom he loves because he knows: pride will come before the fall, and humbleness and brokenness is the only condition he responds to. We personally sense we need to tell you: the destiny of your nation is in God´s hands, not yours. It is not at all about Obama or Romney, it is about God using all the nations in the world according to his global and unchanging plans. Did you ever allow the thought that God in his sovereignty is using Obama like a pawn on his chessboard to humble the US as a nation because he wants to show his grace to a nation gone completely self-sufficient? A nation that is so full of independence, individualism, nationalism and trusting a greed- and fear-based economy that there may be only one way open to heal it from its idolatry and re-align itself with the Kingdom of God: a crisis beyond anything that America has ever seen?

In 2008, God has been challenged by a man standing up in public, preaching to the cheers of a huge crowd: “Yes we can!” We watched it; we saw the tears of excitement in the eyes of the people; the statements were received as if coming from the Messiah himself, and the electoral rallies had all the flavor of a religious revival. “Yes, we can” is the exact opposite of the King of kings saying: “Without me, you can do nothing!”

If God is the one who “deposes kings and raises up others” (Dan 2:21), does it really matter what are the names of the current puppets set in place by God that advance both the New World Order and the Kingdom of God? Neither Herod, Pilate nor Caesar were truly important for the development of the Kingdom. That is exactly why Kingdom people do not play in the Second League, but the First, the one that matters. The one that puts the Kingdom first, and everything else – including their own nation – second.

The problem of the current commotion and insecurities arises when even the people that call themselves after God keep confusing the Kingdom of God with the United States of America. And when that happens, especially through Christians with a public voice, then we have truly lost all perspective of the coming Kingdom of Jesus Christ and the predictions he has made that will precede his coming.

America is being publicly humbled by God; and he is going to use Obama – and those after him – to further advance his agenda that will lead all nations to kneel before that one true King Jesus very soon. If any nation wants to become a tower that reaches up to high heaven, it will be humbled by a God who will not share his glory with people relying on their own strength.

America, where do you go from here? What does this mean for you? The future is going to be very, very rough. Your securities will vanish, the economy will go down, the education system will become even worse, the streets more dangerous, the churches even more divided, the youth even more disillusioned – unless there is a true movement that abandons all those idols mentioned above, and radically repents, makes a radical alignment with the King of the Kingdom of God and his constitution, live the Law of Christ in all areas of life, first and foremost in the areas of sex, money, power and how we “do church”. This is a defining moment for you as a nation. You could go down, as the German journalist of `Der Spiegel´ predicted. Or, America could be literally re-invented by Kingdom people who are ready to implode the prevailing myths about America’s greatness, and replace it by God´s greatness.

The King has even greater things purposed and would fulfill those purpose IF those who call themselves after Jesus the King, would turn away from their self-made religion, self-made churches and religious factions, self-made visions of success, and their self-made, harmless God.

Can we lovingly but urgently call you back at this hour to begin and initiate a movement to reposition and repatriate yourselves into the eternal Kingdom, by submitting yourself not only in theory but also in practical deeds to Jesus the King, starting to obey the King and his liberating decrees in all the areas that count? You might even want to write a declaration of dependence on God and each other, because by idolizing anything else before and over God, you will become illegal aliens in the country that counts, where we all are called to have our home: the Kingdom, the one place where our true citizenship, nationality and allegiance lies (Phil 3:20). This is the only one country that will not be shaken, as it has an unchanging King.

If there is any way that we can help you in this great challenge and task – we want you to know we will.

The United States needs our prayers today and always!

I have taken the liberty of copying and pasting here on my blog a word given by a brother in Christ whom I follow regularly and who I feel has very timely words from a Christian perspective about what is going on in the world, in the natural and spiritual realm.

This word is, I feel, in view of the coming American Election, worthy of note and reflection and seeing as so many of those who read my blog are in the States, I feel a burden to share it.

There are also some interesting comments left on Gene’s website so follow the link above to read them.

Let’s all pray that the outcome to this situation is indeed for God’s glory and that it brings Jesus Christ’s redemptive power and the love of God’s commandments as well as His Holiness and Omnipotence back into the hearts and homes of North Americans.

May God have mercy on that Nation.

Prophecy regarding the Consequence of the Upcoming Election @

Those who believe that this is going to be a landslide for Romney don’t know history very well. Reagan was an anomaly. Carter was the worst president in the history of the USA. Reagan didn’t beat him, Carter beat himself.
People talk a big game of hope and change for Romney, but the electorate is always chicken. The devil we know is better then the devil we don’t know. OH, it’s clear. I will cast my vote for Romney. He wasn’t my first choice, but he is the only choice now. I will encourage others to do the same. This election is about the cultural and moral free-fall that has accelerated in the last decade. Perhaps a moral man of principle, even if he is a Mormon, will set a new standard for the nation.
I cannot and will not support any politician, republican or democrat who supports abortion and planned parenthood, supports homosexual marriage and the homosexual agenda (don’t ask don’t tell repeal), has furthered the attack on the freedom of religion and a support for Islam in America. I won’t even mention issues regarding our economy or our national security. Those are not the issues that a vote for Obama would cause me to go against everything I believe in. A vote for him is in essence voting for a continued future of an ungodly agenda. Sadly many people will vote against their conscience, knowing full well that they are spitting in the face of the one who saved them out of that mess. They will return to vote for sin like a dog returning to it’s vomit (As a dog returns to its vomit, so a fool repeats his folly Proverbs 26:11). Supporting things they know are simply wrong morally and against the word of God.
There will be a price to pay when they do. It’s a spiritual law. Reward and punishment will be exacted in the spirit. They are calling it down on their own heads. I know this is a hard word and many will take offense. That which offends the mind, reveals the heart. God is about to check your heart.
