You may recall how I recently wrote a post all about the visit to our village by the Kampala Children’s Center Choir – http://www.kampalachildren.com/, some members of which stayed with us for a couple of nights. This African Choir which is made up of 17 children, aged 8 to 16 years old, has spent the last few weeks touring the United Kingdom, and performing from city to city. They had never left their village, travelled on a plane or lived in a completely foreign culture before.
I am absolutely certain that they have been a tremendous blessing in those communities which they have visited, because I know how they stirred and moved the hearts of those present here in our village when they performed in the middle of October. Christians and non-Christians alike attended that performance and were challenged to the core by the unwavering faith of these children who have nothing in the eyes of the world, but have it all in the eyes of the Lord. They have joy, they have love, they have hope, and above all, they have a tremendous faith in the One who made them and has delivered them from poverty and desolation right into the heart of British Government, where significant and life-altering decisions can and should be made. Yes, these kids who had been performing in local schools, churches and village halls in the United Kingdom, performed in front of the Primer Minister, Gordon Brown, his wife and others, at Number 10, Downing Street, London, just two days before flying back home to Uganda. And why should we be surprised? After all when we look at the world around us and the natural beauty that can be found in every corner of the planet, we realise that God never does things in half measures. These children trust in their Saviour, and God has honoured that trust, and brought to pass something which had it been left to men alone, would have possibly never happened, or if it had, it would have been for the wrong motives, with secret agendas in mind. But oh! God has been in it from the start allright, and much fruit and blessing will result from the impact these kids have had in those present during their performances. Many seeds have now been planted and what God releases CANNOT, WILL NOT be reined in, until it achieves His glorious purposes.
Please do not take my word for it, click on this link which takes you straight to Number 10’s own press release:
and see what God can do through those who trust and love Him with all their heart, mind and spirit. But of course God’s word clearly tells us that those who have faith as small as a mustard seed, will say to a mountain ‘Move from here to there’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for them (Matthew 17, 20).
PRAISE GOD FOREVER AND EVER. AMEN
May I finish with this beautiful song called “You are my hiding place” by Selah. I hope it blesses you as much as it blesses me every time I listen to it.
